You Have Never Heard Of Ice Wine

If You Have Never Heard Of Ice Wine Here Are Some Reasons You Need To Check It Out
By: Gregg Hall

Even though there are many different wines to buy, one that is most unheard of by most is ice wine. Ice wine is a very rare form of wine, a wine that is made under very specific weather conditions. Ice wine is normally made in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, where the weather conditions give it the name.

Even though it may seem crazy it is made in very small quantities. With the wine requiring little and lack of availability, the product is very rare in fact. Truth be told, there are only a few people that can actually purchase the wine. Ice wine, due to the scarceness of it, it is most likely out of price range for most people.

Similar to the beauty of owning a diamond, ice wine is something that some of us would like to feel and taste in our lives. Even though the materials are quite rare, the right weather conditions are crucial for this wine to be made. Once the right weather conditions arrive, the wine maker prepares the extremely rare ingredients for the weather to come.

The basic things needed to make this fine wine are fully ripe grapes and a temperature of 5 degrees C. The temperature needs to remain that way for a series of days, so that the maker of the wine can complete the process of making this rare wine. Grapes that are frozen solid during this process are hand picked by the maker and his helpers.

To produce a bottle of ice wine, full vine grapes are needed. After the grapes have been picked they are softly pressed, in order to collect the running juice only. The temperature makes the water crystals, which are fermented with sugars and the free running juices. Through all of this the rare fine ice wine is made.

If you have been searching to just taste and try ice wine, finding it may be almost impossible. As you may already know, most alcohol and wine stores do not ever even see this fine wine on their shelves for they are not even worthy. Discovering it online is just as hard as well, unless you find it at the right time. Even if you find it, it could cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars to get your hands on.

The best way to experience ice wine is to locate a wine maker in the pacific northwest a good portion of those makers probably know how to make it. Even though a bottle will go very fast after being created, you might be able to catch a wine maker with some on tap. Be prepared to pay whatever necessary to try it. Even though almost impossible to find once discovered it is the best wine you could have ever tasted. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on some of this wine be sure and take some pictures because you may never see it again.
